CBS Case Competition and week 9 Every year in Week 9, CBS Case Competition and CBS Case Competition OPEN turns Copenhagen Business School into a blue center for creativity, business, networking and lifetime experiences. CBS Case Competition is an international business school competition where 12 teams are invited to solve a case. In addition to the business school competition and the OPEN competition you can participate in , we have the concept of week 9. Week 9 is a week filled with fun, exciting events at Copenhagen Business School, where students can get inspired and new experiences. We believe that everyone should get the chance to solve the case, which is why we have created CBS Case Competition OPEN. CBS Case Competition OPEN is separate competition from CBS Case Competition, where all students from selected European countries to solve the business case. CBS Case Competition OPEN gives you the opportunity to put theory into practice. It is a great way to challenge yourself and learn how to solve a real-life business problem. The competition is open for both bachelor and master students, experienced case-solvers and students who are solving a case for the first time. This year there are two separate cases, a small 5 h Monday case and the main 22,5-hours case on Wednesday. The Monday case is optional, so you can choose if you want to participate in both cases or only the Wednesday case.
The Monday case is a 5-hour case solved completely online. The case is a social case, where your team get the opportunity to use your case-solving skills to come up with a creative solution to a social problem. Do well by doing good. You hand in a PowerPoint presentation online and based on the PowerPoint presentation, the jury will select a winner.
The winning team will be announced Tuesday afternoon and will receive a prize of 10.000 DKK. The case is launched 10.00 and must be handed in by 15.00 at the case competition website. There is only room for 20 teams in this mini-competition. The Monday case is a great way to align your team before the big Wednesday competition.
The Wednesday case is a 22,5-hour case with preliminary rounds online and semi-finals and final in Copenhagen. The case is launched online and you hand in your solution online. All the submitted solutions will then be evaluated and all teams will receive feedback on their solution. The top 9 teams are selected to continue to the semi-finals at Copenhagen Business School. There the teams will present in front of a jury of business professionals in three divisions and the best team from each division will compete in the final.
The winner will take the big trophy home along with 30.000 DKK. The three finalists will also win “Pick-a-Prize”, which is a networking day together with one of our partners.
